Hi i want to upgrade my current powerhead on my Juwel 70 tank. The Juwel 70 powerhead is the 400 model.

What other models will fit? I think i can upgrade to a more powerful Juwel powerhead cant i? if someone can help please that would be great.

Thanks, Mike.

Yes you can get the next one up. Dont get anything stronger though as the faster current might not be to your fishes liking.

I think the next one up is the 600, which funny enough does 600 l/hr as opposed to the 400! I think the powerhead mounts are supposed to fit most of the models anyway.

The only thing to be careful with the Juwels is that I beleive the theory behind the Juwel filtration system is that water is supposed to be drawn slowly through the filter media. So, you will increase the output by upgrading, but I'm not sure it actually benefit the filtration as such. I think it's fine for tropicals, but if you've got goldies in there you may an additional filter to get your 10 x filtration.

Is this the tank with the external filter set up or is that the new one you have? smile.gif

smile.gif thanks for the replies. I will look into the juwel filtration system before i purchase but i do need to know if the 600 will fit into the slot in my filter system.

I think the extra filtration will be better for my fishies so i really wanna know if i can upgrade to a strong powerhead.

is the 600 series the only one that will fit? How about the 800?

I have a feeling that all bar the largest one will fit into the same adapter, but you need to check that out first as I'm not sure. Try the Juwel website, they have a helpdesk as well. However, like Sandy says you may not want to go too big as it may produce too powerful a current for the size of tank smile.gif

dont go any higher than the next model or your fish will feel they are in a washing machine and the water will be going too fast over the media.
