Hi i was wondering what wood i can put into my new tank setup because i havent got a clue. Its going to be a coldwater tank.

It really depends on a few things. What fish will you be putting in there-have you decided? And what is your Ph out of the tap? Driftwood is known to slightly lower your ph,so that depends on how high yours is in the first place,as to if you should be using it or not.

its going to be lionheads and ranchus that im keeping
my ph is 7.1 out of the tap

My pH from the tap is well below 7.0. Im adding some wood as well shortly to my 75 gallon. You might have to add crushed coral to your filter to keep the pH up. Thats what Im doing.

I need to know how to add the wood. Do i have to wash it 1st? Could someone please explain how to add BogWood to my tank?
What other wood types can go into my tank?

Most people boil theirs for 6-8 hours. Then let it soak in a big container so it releases its tannins which turn the water brown. Does your wood sink? Soaking it will also allow it to become waterlogged. This usually tskes awhile though.
Im not sure about all the types of wood that can go into tanks. I do know that you should stick with hardwoods and not pine trees, soft woods.
