Im so excited!! I told Rick that for my Bday I wanted to upgrade my 30 gallon to a 40 gallon. Well we went to the fish shop just to look and I saw a 75 gallon setup I just adored. He bought it for me!! They put a sold sign on it so now its just the waiting until delivery. Im thinking of doing a natural environment in it. Natural stones, driftwood and silk plants. Im moving the goldies from my 55 into the 75 and the goldies in the 30 to the 55. Everyone gets a bigger home! I will update with pics of my progress as Im setting it up. I cant wait!

vmlola ~ I plan on running 2 Aquaclear filters it, one that does 300 GPH, the other 500. With the setup I got an iron stand, glass hood and strip light. Ive never had a glass lid before but I think Im going to like it!

Congrats on the new tank! I have two of those and to me,they're a perfect size tank-not too big but not too little. Keep us posted about it all.

Erin, I am SO excited for you! I really wanted a 75 for my guys, but I am making do with a 55. But someday....I told my fiance he could have the 55 for Oscars or some other violent fish that he wants if i got a 75 with a stand...hint hint!

OK guys!! Got the 75 gallon today and got it put together, I still need rocks and to soak my driftwood and add plants. But, here are pics of the process thus far!

Its actually a 48" (4 foot) tank. Its very wide though. I used a lot of old filter media and one established filter on it so putting fish in shouldnt be too far off!

Devs, I actually had to tear down two 30s as well! The one I put back up below it, at least its just a turtle tank so not TOO complicated but I did have to use buckets instead of my gravel vac. The empty 30 will be used to soak my driftwood for awhile since I dont have anything else big enough to set it in!

Well,I think the fact that I moved here about 6 months ago and had to tear down 15 tanks and then move them and set them back up has alot to do with my laziness.Just seemed like yesterday when I did that!

Nothing like keeping Driftwood in a 30 gal,eh?

Oh Erin! It is GORGEOUS! I love the decor, the fish are beautiful, WOW!

I am no longer posting pics of my tank because it will look so cruddy compared to yours! All is have is a stupid volcano...although honestly, I don't want to put much in there since technically, I am still overstocked and I want to see my fish SWIM!

I forgot about my cruddy kh/ph issues so since I refilled the tank again tonight I will have to wait until tomorrow to add fish, otherwise the ph won't match between tanks. But that's ok, maybe I will fix the intake tubes by then so they are at the bottom, and I can add a fish tomorrow night. Tomorrow day is my kiddo's last day of school plus shopping marathon with my soon-to-be-stepdaughter so it'll have to wait until evening. But that's ok-I am almost there!

I think I am going to change my mind and add gravel anyway, I thought I could have a few rocks and go barebottom but I just don;t know if I can do it, especially not after seeing your tank and the pretty substrate in it.

Well, busy day tomorrow so off to bed for me! Devs said the whole forum was all about me because I posted the same thing in three different forums for virtually no reason....

But it IS all about us! Goldie sisters forever!

Thanks so much for the nice comments. I was going to go barebottom but then started thinking about what I REALLY wanted. Spent $60 on those rocks!! Three bags, 25 pounds each. I really like how it turned out though. I am waiting for my piece of driftwood to sink so I can add that to the middle. I think Im going to try to attach some live java moss to it, although the goldies will probably think its a salad bar!

And you'd better keep posting pics silly!! I keep checking your thread for more pics!

I normally work 7 days on-7off,and I have no life! After I recoop from working 83 hours,I spend the rest of the week changing fish water and washing clothes. What a life,eh?

No Erin, I gave up on trying to have an Elliott! I felt like a serial Elliott murderer! I have my little black ranchu "Seymour", and I think I'll stop there as far as they go. I never did tell GoldfishRus that the second one died, I just thought I would stop and not get anymore from him. Both ranchus were ill when they got here and everything I did was useless! And they both arrived with the same symtoms, so go figure.

I dont blame you!! I havent even wrote him that I am back in NY for the replacement fish..Id rather not get one than him send me another one that can barely swim.
