Ok, you pros may already have this but I just got (actually my hubby got them FOR me....ain't that sweet!) BOTH my tanks have timers on the lights! My 30 comes on in the morning & turns off in the evening. The one he found for my big tank is REAL neat. During the week (while we're at work) The lights come on in the morning I feed them & go to work, then mid day it turns them off and about time I return home it turns them on again & then off in the evening. So thru the middle part of the day they have natural light (but not direct sunlight). It is even set so the on weekends it's on more as I can watch them more then!

I just think that is soooooooooooo neat! I can't help but grin in the evening while I am watching my favorite tv shows I hear CLICK & the tank lights go off!

I couldn't live without my timers .Glad you love em.The only prob with mine is all the fish swim to the top soon after timers switch light on,they all know the food is coming.

Yea i love my timers Although once somehow, the little nodules on the timer got pushed in, so overnight the fish tank would turn on.. then off... then on again several times! I figured when i woke up and saw light comming from the lounge room that i was just dreaming, but no Brendan was up late one night and asked me the next day were my lights supposed to go on and off all night

Ooh timers sound neat. I don't have them but its always nice having a little auto help!

Mine came from good ole Wally World! You can set it to go on & off whenever you want it to. I think I COULD set it to go on & off about 12 times throughout the day for each day of the week......but on in the morning & off in the evening is ok by me!

mine can go off a zillion times a day! Its got this round thing where you depress or keep up the little nodes, depending if you want it on or off. Each node is like at 15min intervals (something like that) so it could go on and off every 15min all day

Yep!! I could set mine for on & off all throughout the day....but how would goldfish handle psychedelic lighting!!!

Its got 1-24 round the dial bit, then lots of little clicky bits that can go up and down round the edge of that.. I some are supposed to be up and some down for when the light is on or off, but the number dial moves round so i dont know where its supposed to be and what does what.. :S
