Thanks Kissy,

That’s just what I was hoping they were, thought I am kind of surprised that they are ready to flower already. The one in the first pic is already an inch above the water line. laugh.gif I cant wait till it flowers. When it dose I am going to try and see if I can pollinate it and grow the seeds.

Yah, my flowers caught me by surprise too. Are the apos crispuses? I think I've heard of pollinating them with a little feather, but I don't know much else. Some times the flowers will fall into the water and drown cry3.gif

The one in the pic is a crispus, as are most of the other bulbs, but I think that one of them is a undulatus or boivinianus since its leaves are broader and brighter green than the rest of the other apons.

The seeds have sprouted and I have 10+ little apon plantlets!

Congrats!!! How did you pollinate them? Did they make seed pods?

I rubbed the flowers with the tip of one my bird's shed wing feathers every day for like a week. After doing that the flowers went from looking like this

to this.

sad.gif I had accidently snapped off the flower stalk when cleaning the tank, but since the seed pods had already formed and had grown a bit, I sniped off the rest of the stalk and left the flower head with the pods attached to float in the tank, within hours the pods burst releasing one or two seeds (which floated), within half an hour most of the seed coats split and the little plantlets dropped to the bottom of the tank. ohmy.gif All this happened yesterday and some of the plantlets have already grown a few leaves and roots. Its shocking how quickly these plants grow, I can't immagine what my tank will look like in a week. yikes.gif

Good job! My flowers always drowned before they got a chance lol. That is interesting how quickly that happened.
