My Vals are actually doing pretty good. I don't have CO2 so I wasn't sure they would do well but they are proving to be hardier than I first though. Now, I originally bought 2 plants. One was a larger, single plant, and the other had two "babies" on a shoot chain from the side. The single one has continued to grow larger, while the other is growing "wider" by producing more babies on the growing chain. The older plants don't have any roots left... Should I cut the newer ones off? There are 5 on the chain total.

Anyways, the real question is that the base of one of the leaves on the single val is getting thin and clearish. What do you think it is? I have 1.9wpg and I leave them on for 10-12 hours a day. I supplement lighid fertilizer once or twice a week, and it has its own root tabe for extra nourishment. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
