Can't wait for some piccy's. biggrin.gif How big is the tank??

You could alway's do partial bare bottom, Get a few glass jar's or something of that nature for plants..Or some neat looking glass stone's. exactly.gif

You can get some large river stones - I love how those look. The plus of them is that there is no way they can get stuck in your fishie's mouth.

How big is the tank? Tell us more!!
Padda's pal
laugh.gif agreed everything else is minor details !!

Tank is my 300litre (66UK 79USA gallons approx) which has a home made sump which holds about 60litres (13UK 15USA Gallons approx) so will have plenty of space fishtank.gif

i also am fond of the river stones and will have them but i am thinking of smaller ones for the base but not sure

i am becoming a member of the Goldfish Society of Great Britain these guys are helpfull and a lot of knowledge is shared also there members breed and sell goldfish so i will get my stock from them smile.gif

well the substrate went in and so did first piece of decor and am starting to get a mental pic off what finished tank will look like.

the sump design has stayed pretty much how i had it for marine and i'm thinking this will be good on a few different levels but a part of it cant be finished untill about the same time as fish added but this is ok as bio part will already be in full flow and it wont affect it

i'm going to add one of my brothers pond commons hes about 6in and only has one eye but for a unknown reason i'm fond of him biggrin.gif then after a while another

the reason for this is i might not add Ranchu's for a couple of months and i want the tank fully ready for them when they arrive at which point sweet william (one eyed common) plus friend will return to his pond

It's sounding good. I have a one-eyed telescope I bought out of pity thinking no-one would want it and it would need extra care.

Was I wrong! he has grown huge and is one of my boisterous boys. He has no trouble finding food and can take care of himself as well as the next fish. I agree that there is something endearing about a one-eyed fish - mine is called Lucky as I thought he was lucky to be getting a good home. Now I think he could have survived and thrived anywhere. laugh.gif
Padda's pal
Sweet william is in the tank and looking well and some plants added today so comming together:)

some one eyed fish dont seem to be at a disadvantage at all and thrive like your Lucky:D

Why has this topic been moved into here ?? why.gif
Fishmerised
I'm not sure why it was moved, I can't remember where it was before - was it GD? Perhaps someone thought it would be better in Tanks & Equipment but pushed the wrong button and it ended up in Water Chemistry. Not to worry, maybe someone will move it back.

Anyway, it's all sounding good so far.

Best of luck with it mate, sounds like a great project. I bet you will get a great choice of good quality stock from a breeders network like that smile.gif
