She is the daughter of my first breeder (RIP)
I can not wait to see how the fry are!
Her last drop was 21 days ago (27 fry 1 culled so far)
the one before only 6 fry but not undersupervision, i think she ate a few

Her mate is a HB red
Parents were a HB red and (i dont know the name for sure) but looks like a full jap blue

Past offspring, most males HB reds, some blue
females, blonde or blue.

Only bred guppys once and they were feeders, now I have sailfin mollys. I would like to get some guppys one day though and do some experiments with genetics. Congrats on the fry. Fry are always exciteing, no matter what fish has them...even a guppy. smile.gif

That is the BIG question!!!

I have tried to breed a pure strain I am looking at 8 or 10 tanks mim!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So far I got 8 tanks...I feel that to be fair to the fish, Id love to really go into breeding and the genetics....but to do so I will compromose the space.

with 8 tanks running now. I dont think itwould be well advised to add another 10!!!

I have been away on call for work (they ring...i go)
so with my hectic lifestlyle and beeing a single parent too
I have decided....as much as it breakes my heart.....that in the well being of the fish
I can not breed 2 strains.

I have kept one male...a blue mosiac and one female.... a blonde

so I can now cross my F1 with my F2 gen.

This will hopefully give me a nice show guppy
will I show?????
prob not.... I do not know shows here where I live.
Id probly never show them, but hey its nice to breed some lovely ones!!!!!

Here is my fry tank.
The ones free swiming are 3 weeks old and were sold the other day at 6 weeks of age( I kept the best male and female) They were from my orig breeder, her 2nd drop. The mum in this thread is from her 1st drop
The ones on the left hand side are this mums first drop.
The ones on the right are her 2nd drop.

2 days later, hard to see but you can see the little tan/brown things that are the fry.

These fry have now moved into the above fry tank after I sold the oldest lot. Unfortunately at day 3 I noticed 13 missing sad.gif they must have got over the top and the other fish ate them
I moved them to the fry tank saving 10.
So much for 23 sad.gif its so cry3.gif
But I have learnt a valuable lesson.....move imediately!!!

heartpump.gif they are too cute. I'm sorry you lost some, I have that same breeder box and a couple of weeks ago I found a baby when I was cleaning. I couldn't help myself and tried to save it and put it in that box and the next morning it was gone dry.gif
BigGreenBean
thsoe are neat! too bad your camera sucks becuase not many people can catch their fish giving birth becuase i have always wanted to see mine giving birth but it has not happened yet, but i am determined to catch it one day or another!

Yeah smile.gif
I want a new camera!!!!! So i can get it when it happens smile.gif

good news is ALL fry alive and thriving from her

bad news is...there is one fry with a bent spine from my F2, I do not want to cull!!!
Im thinking of selling with the next lot of 10 and add her in
this one is not from the babies I hade in this thread
so hard!~
