I saw the carp in my local pond spawning 2 weeks ago and went around in my boat collecting the reeds they seemed to be spawning up against.I then filled a bucket with water stopped off on the way home and bought my self a tank.I used the water I got at the lake in the tank and noticed very msmall fry swimming around in the water, the eggs I got don't seem to have hatched and the fry that came in the water don't seem to be feeding on the liquifry I am feeding them or the crushed daphny I'm trying what would be the best thing to feed them or is it that what they are eating are too small for me to see ??
Also in the water from the lake is alot of water fleas will these eat my fry ??

don't call me a cheater as it was a spur of the moment thing but I'd like to watch these fish grow so I can release them next year.

They should be eating what you fed them, Irishmee - and whats even better, the water fleas turn into food as well, once the fry gets a little bigger. How long has it been since they hatched, and are the fry already fully swimming, or still clinging to the tank walls more or less? Might also be that they are still having their yogsac attached, of which they'll feed off of until its gone, and then they start eating whatever you give them.
Even if the crushed daphnia might still be a bit big for some of the fry, the liquifry should work just fine. If you can find a magnifiying glass, you might see that they'll eat, you just can't see it with your bare eyes. Those guys ARE awefully small....

The eggs I got don't seem to have hatched
I'm not sure how old the fry are but they are only about 10 mm long and swimming around the tank with no visible egg yoke.I don't even know if they are carp as they are see through.there is also sturgen,Wells catfish and grass carp in the lake so they could be anything I suppose.
I would just like to keep them alive to see what they are

If you can get some try newly hatched brine shrimp (Sea monkeys), this is what most people feed various species of fish fry. There are also baby fish foods out there in powder form, I use Hikari First Bites, fry aren't like adult fish, they probably won't rush up and get excited and such, your could still be eating and your just not seeing it.

I got some frozen brine shrimp today and when I introduced it into the tank I saw some fish feeding on them.
I have also noticed new things clinging to the glass they are only about 1.5 to 2 mm long and they look like baby fish to me they might be baby water fleas after hatching but they look nothing like the adults.I'll have to take some pics so ye can tell me what ye think.
