OMG I have fry!!!! So far I have managed to catch 12 of them
I just cant believe it!!
When I removed the bristlenose I removed all the plants aswell so the eggs must have been on the plants. An hour ago I was checking on him and saw these tiny things swiiming then they cling onto the sides of the tank or the plants. They are tiny and see thru.

I am just soooooooooooo excited

Mum is Sunset as she is the one that was being chased by blue and Lucy
So this will be interesting to see how they turn out


I also cant believe the eggs hatched even with all that Sterazin in the tank

You can start feeding them as soon as their egg sacs disappear and they start swimming around.Feeding newly hatched Brine Shrimp made my baby grow fast.Look over the fry food section for other options,and continue to take pic's as we love watching them grow.

There's a couple of good fry foods on the market - there Wardley's Small Fry which is a liquid food and my guys loved it. Also there's Sera Micron which is a fine powder and is chock full of vitamins and is spirulina based.

They were really the only 2 I could find on the market

Thanks on the advice on feeding. I dont know if I can get live brine shrimp I have been looking around for them for my guppy fry to no avail. I can get the frozen ones.
I have powdered fry food on hand and I have seen the liquid at the shop. I can boil eggs I love cooking!

I can see my kids now, KIDS: "ohhh yum making us boiled eggs for breakfast mum?"
ME: "Nope sorry no time, this is for the fish, have some toast"

I have decided not to move them tonight as I want to put out the other rubbermaid to dry all day in the sun tomorow, then put them in it so I can re-dose the bristlenose.

They'll love the outdoor tub - this is where mine were for the first couple of months and they thrived out there. The tub gets nice and green so your water stays good although I did add an airstone to help them.

Now I hope you'll keep updating us with pics?

Thats the one the shop has. Im working tomorow till 3pm so I will have time to go it after work

The powdered one I have is Nutrafin basix staple food for fry, but it says for all fry aswell as small tropical fish. It contains plankton, shrimp meal, soy flour, kelp meal, oat flour, yeast, cod fish meal and fish liver meal.

Ill look and see if the dry one you mentioned is at the shop too but i dont recall seing any offhand.

I have a powerpoint outside and its undercover from rain but alot of sun comes in, its where I have my BBQ so I can give them an airstone and heater I hope the water gets lovely and green out there. It should as its facing the same as my main tank and that gets lots of sunlight from that aspect. I want the tub to really dry out before I fill and move them too as I want it nice and clean (it was the one Mullow was in)

I use TetraMinBaby Powder Food for all baby fish!

Now Im just waiting for Santa's elves to arrive too LOL

this is day 3

some still clinging to the net but most swiming so I went to the store got the liquid fry stuff and put only 2 drops in
The bottle says several drops per 20 fry

Well last night I found another 4 so official count is 28 fry!
I decided as its day one feeding I dont wanna over do it, the bottle sugets alot of drops, I juts popped in 2

They sort of took a while then as it spread thru the water they were hovering in one spot and quivering and jerking like they were grabbing it

Last night I also had 23 guppy fry born...OMG I knew santa/s elves were gonna visit too! LOL

dad or 2 dads posibly are a blue oranda and a red cap oranda

I talked to my LFS guy who is good!
He attened this fish seminar with vets 2 months ago, and he is doing the 10 gal a fish in his shop!!!!!
We talked about it and I hope to go to the next convention with him


IfI have a good rate and most fry live then, honestly I can not house them all....I have to be concerned for the fish wellfare first..sooooo....if my fry live I need homes!

as for the guy at my LFS:

He even asks me advie on breeding guppys,.......... I sell mine to him, and we talk for an hour or more every 3 days ( yes I am addicted to fish! do not remind me)

He is willing to buy the goldie fry too and I know he will take care of them.
However I just want a good home for them.

Sounds like you're moving on to BIG fishy adventures..you'll be the new Daryl (I think its daryl...hope Im right...)going to shows next and ...judging fish soon but that is so great! you are loving what you're doing and your fish are leading you the right way!! Conventions and all. (its also good you have a LFS person who knows his stuff.)

Looking at the pics in your sig, this is going to be a unique group of babies for sure. you can expect a big color assortment and a few wens huh?
