I just bought my first live aquarium plant and I have no idea what it is. Right now the plant is in qt, but I need some tips on how to disinfect it.

dry.gif I couldn’t edit the last post, but I just found that there is a topic pinned about disinfecting new plants, and I am not sure but I think that the plant that I bought may be a bacopa caroliniana or a ludwigia repens. wall.gif I hope that its a bacopa and not a ludwigia, since ludwigias aren’t the best plants for beginners.

blink.gif again I couldn't edit my last post, but anyway I did a little more research on bacopas and read that they are herbaceous and that their leaves should have a lemony scent. I crushed some of the leaves and didn’t think that they smelled too much like lemons so I had my mom smell them, and she said that thought that they smelled like lemons.

sad.gif The leaves seem to break off rather easily, so i don't know if will be able to put them into my goldfish tank, they may just have to say in the plant tank .

It looks like bacopa to me smile.gif

Good luck with it and please let us know how it goes.

smile.gif The plant is pretty, and I'm thinking Bacopa too.Don't get your hopes up too high though, because I have a strong feeling that your Goldie's are going to eat it. ignore.gif Unfortunately, they love those tender leaved plants.
Maybe you'll luck out though and they'll leave it alone,eh? smile.gif Let's hope for the best. wink.gif

It's beautiful nonetheless.
