Yes, ramshorn snails are pests and will very quickly reproduce and overrun your tank. best thing to do is not introduce them at all, but since you have, just keep up with removing egg clutches as soon as you see them, and if your goldies are big enough, they may eat a few as they see them. These guys are asexual, meaning they are both male and female, so they can reproduce at alarming rates

: Good luck

Could you post a pic of the babies? It doesn't really sound like apple snails to, unless you had a clutch that is

maybe trapdoor snails, they are a snail commonly put in ponds. I have gotten them introduced to my tanks by plants a few times. They, also, are a 'pest' type snails, for tanks, at least.

I am assuming since you are trying to plant your tank you want Brigs, the kind of apple snail that doesn't eat plants. If you want to see what one looks like, go to the very top of the snail forum page for a really good illustration. They lay eggs above water, so I doubt the litlte ones you have in your tank are brigs. Most likely, as most people have said so far, they are the pest snails that are very hard to get rid of. If you could find some sort of picture that would help us tons. Try looking at this site for all the snail info you ever wanted to know, but were afraid to ask.
Good luck! Keep us posted!

Those are trapdoor snails, or pond snails. In an aquarium, they will be a pest. I would remove eggs as soon as you see them, and get rid of the actual snals you see, you could give them to a pet store that sells pond stuff, or a green house that sells water-gardening and pond supplies.

good luck

they are also sold alot as just 'pond snails' they ususally are thrown in tanks of comet/common goldies in pet stores, and have a nice hearty coat of algae on their shells.
