I kept a male ryukin and a female oranda for breeding. Female oranda carrying more eggs and her belly is more round. Yesterday when i left for work i saw more spawning and in the evening i can see around 50-60 eggs, but still her belly is huge and round. My question is

1. When does the male starts fertilizing the eggs, weather it will start fertlizing as an when the female start releasing the 1st egg or it will do fertilization only after female releases all her eggs.

2. I think it will take somemore time to release all ehr eggs, and i am afraid till that does these parents eat the existing released eggs or can i remove the parents and keep it in another container. Pls help

well im ot the most exsperianced person in goldfish but the male fertilises the eggs streight after the female has layed them and also she is still round because she may have eggs still inside her

congrats will the eggs and good luck with the fry wen they arrive

and also the parents will eat any eggs they can find so its a good idea to remove the eggs into another tank / tub with a small sponge filter

Thanx as u said i separated the parents, but i am getting fungus spreading over d eggs, how to overcome from this problem.

A low dosage of Methylene blue will take care of the fungus, Chan. Its always helpful to have a bottle of it around for just that purpose - methylene blue alone, not combined with anything else.
