Well i'm going to have to start thinking about buying these for my pond very soon. Can anyone recommend any good ones?

i'm thinking i'd maybe like an external filter for easy maintenence...is it possible to partially bury these in the ground at all? Also with regards to the pump (i think my pond might end up around 500 gallons) is it possible that could i set it up to run with the filter and power say a homemade spitter using bamboo poles or a fountain depending on what i decide to do?

Thanks in advance

azponds.com has some great prices with some good examples of filtration systems, you may want to check that out if just for anything but to look at the pictures of how they set up filtration. With 500 gallons I'd suggest having filtration in a bio skimmer and in a bio falls. I think that may be all you need? Those bio skimmer and falls boxes are pretty good size and you can put a lot of filtration media in them.

Yes I do think that you can use your bamboo spitter, that should be no problem.

thanxsn.gif for the reply Scott, I spent last night researching some pumps and filters available here in the uk and came across this where you could type in the details of your pond and they recommend a system for you.

I did two recommendations one for goldfish and one for koi just to see what the results where...do these seem like a suitable set up?
