I recently had some Crispus flowers too Kissy, and they ended up going to seed which I wasn't expecting at all!

This pic is looking straight down (see the snails on the its leaves down below?

). The bigger (blurred) stalk coming in from the left has already gone to seed and you can see the husks floating on the surface at the bottom and the right of the pic, while the stalk in the middle is just starting to form seed pods from it's old flowers.
Once the seeds pop out of their husks, they are bright green and sink to the bottom.

And then start sprouting (even if they land the wrong way up!) in amongst the grass and snail skeletons.
