hi,
well i just got my new little blue oranda today

aw and the little thing is so cute but is it compatable witha red fantail and a rykin who wont leave it alone it did that with my other 1 wen i bought her but is it couriosity or agression or i doubt it mateing

They normally are compatible. The ryuking could be defending its territory. If he doesn't bother the other one, then it should be ok after a time. Or it may be overcrowding. How large is your tank?

my tank is 3ft long 1ft wide and 15 inches high

i read on a petsmart bag and it said that you can try changing how the ornaments and such are orgainized to make the older fish less agresive or or accepting or sumtin like that.

You could also try arranging the decorations or plants so your oranda has a place to hide until the others get accustomed to him.

thanks for all your relpys much appresiated theyve setteld down now i think it was just making sure who was boss but my oranda has taken over and the ryurkin is in second in command

I have 2 rukins in with my blue oranda, calico and black moors and they all do fine. I hope yours get used to each other and do fine. Most of the time after they check each other out, they will settle down, but it really is all about the paticular fish's personality. Some ryukins are known to be aggressive, but other breeds can be as well. I have never had any signs of it from my guys. Good luck with yours!
