I don't have filters on my 3 smaller betta tanks so I do 100% water changes. While I'm changing them, I scoop them into their "baby cups" and then float them. Dumb me thought that I could just leave them floating while I ran to the store, and when I came back I found Apostrophe lying on the floor. I wasn't gone very long so she wasn't dry so I put her back and she seems to be doing fine. She's swimming around and eating, but she does have some cat fur stuck to her. sad.gif Should I attempt to get it off or let her work it off on her own? I don't think she was down there very long and she seems fine, but I do think the couple cat hairs are annoying her.

blink.gif Sorry to hear about your Betta's accident. They are known for jumping,so even their tanks should have some sort of cover on them.As for the cat hairwell I had a Dojo loach do this once. The hair was stuck kind of in his scales,so rather than cause him any more unnecessary harm,or infection,I just waited and let the hair fall off itself. smile.gif
Don't be surprised if in a day or two he shows up with some fin damage or something.A little pristene water though should make it all okay. smile.gif Good luck!

She seems fine today and I think all of the hair fell off. I usually have lids on all of my tanks, but I had them in their waterchange cups with just a little water in the bottom so I didn't think that they would be able to scale those walls. Plus the cups were floating in the tanks so she must have jumped out into the tank and then out of it onto the ground. I especially didn't expect it from this girl because I've never seen her jump. My other girl will jump up at feeding time but I've never seen Apostrophe do that. I guess she just saves it all for when I'm not looking. laugh.gif
