i currently have 3 fancys
1 red cap
2 ryukins
and 5 zebra danios
i was thinking of adding a hillstream loach for algae control.
my tank is a 29 gallon tank w/ 300 gph filtration.
is this a smart idea, or problem bound. i am using the hillstream loach becuase its the only algae eater compatible with goldfish that i can actually look at and not be scared, but the loach does freak me out a bit, but i want my tank clean.
thanks.

Hillstreams like really cold fast flowing water. If you can have a fast flow directed onto the back glass for instance and its well oxygenated then i dont see why you cant keep one.

even w/ the danios it wil still fit in. my tanks says at 72 to 78. i have one of my filters flowing right onto a peice of driftwood on the top of the top. does it need to hang on glass or can it just hang on the driftwood. also, do they need company, or will 1 just do.

To begin with it will rarely leave the glass and when it gets more confident will explore onto the gravel. Where they come from in the wild they live in really fast flowing well oxygenated streams and get their food from the rocks on the bed. i doubt they will go near the bogwood, and they like to be in groups, so you could get two of them.
