ok, so I'd set up a ten gallon heated tank with a divider, my male betta Joker on one side, and my female betta Harley on the other. They've been in there a few days. He's got a nice bubble nest going on, and there's these solid little white things inside some of the bubbles. Did she somehow sneak around the barrier and leave eggs? This tank isn't set up for spawning at all.... I've got one makeshift fake 'plant' made out of a scrap of cloth, and the rest is partial barebottom. If these are eggs, how do I take care of them? I wasn't expecting a hatch, but if I've got one that'll be fun too.

Sounds like eggs.... Could you get a pic for us, by any chance?

Does your divider go all the way to the top of the tank? Is it possible that she could have jumped it and gotten on his side?
MissyDraven
I suppose its possible.... and I'm sure they were eggs... now they've got little tails and eyes and are swimming around... I've been feeding the babies tiny crumbled up boiled egg yolk. Is there anything else I can do to help my unexpected expanded fish family?

Check out d_golem's thread about his betta spawn. If that looks like what you have going on then I would suggest that he can help you the most. Congrats!!

However...

If your little wigglies don't look like those babies you might have yourself some sort of insect larvae. It has happened before. 100% water change and disinfect everything before setting the tank back up again. Let us know what is going on in your tank. Hopefully it's babies, that is, if you can handle all the work when they grow out a little bit. heartpump.gif
