With one of those complete kits, you'll need to be sure you have a place where you can get the gas bottle refilled with little fuss.

I originally started with the JBL version of that AquaMedic complete kit, and found I couldn't get the bottle refilled when it ran out after a few weeks. The lfs said they were going to introduce that service when I bought it, but changed their mind.

I now rent a larger CO2 cylinder from a commercial gas-rental company, who deliver a fresh replacement cylinder (for a fee) when mine runs out. But guess what? The JBL regulator from that kit doesn't fit a standard commercial gas cylinder. So I had to spend even more money for another regulator.

I'd recommend visiting a few aquatic plant forums to read about others' experience with specific CO2 units etc. And also help you set it up working properly. CO2 is a large enough topic it can't be covered properly in just one message thread. The two most helpful forums I think would be:

aquaticplantcentral.com
plantedtank.net

thanks for your help i will read them
