I don't know the name of the filter Large BIO filtration Pump
Just complete a fishless Cycle on 4-10-06 changed 50% of the water
1 Fantail gf 1 pleco 1 comet 29gal tank (I feed them gf flakes) 0 new fish add

I notice small white spot on my fish about a week ago. It looked like ICK so I started treating them with ICK meds I purchased from nnnnnn. At first they were normal (swimming around and eating) Now one has died (1gf fantail) and the comet just lays underneath the air line at bottom of the tank(long tube with holes that air passes thur) Could this IcK cause them to die in 2-3 days or could it be something else? It's wasn't a whole lot of white spot on them (sides and tail fins). Could it be Fungus? Somebody enlighten me!!!!

Ich can kill very quickly but usually you would see a lot of white spots.

Did you purchase the fish after the tank had cycled? ie. have you had them only a few weeks? If not, how long have you had the fish?

Another thing, did you vacuum the gravel when you did the water change before you added the fish? A fishless cycle is very messy so the gravel would be messy too.

Hi Otis, what did you use to do a fishless cycle?

If you used chemicals, I would always suggest doing a 100 waterchange so the water you introduce your fish into is absolutely clean.

Having said that, I would try doing a couple of large waterchanges and see if this shows any improvement.

I'm sorry you lost one of your fish sad.gif

I used ammonia (pure) to conduct my fishless cycle and I conducted a 50% water change after it was complete. I was told not to clean the tank after the cycle for a few days because it could disrupt my water balance. Yes, I purchased the fish after the cycle. I just had them a couple of weeks. Another one died yesterday but the pleco seems to be doing fine. What went wrong somebody help? What should I do before adding new fish?

Did you condition you water before you added it to the tank? For example, did you use a product that removes chlorine from you water.
otis
Yes, I added chlorine removal.
