I'm sorry I don't have pH, etc. right now. I just changed almost 100% of my 50 gal. aquarium. I have 3 large goldfish. I added 2.5 tsp. of Prazipro. It's supposed to be so safe! My fish are floating lifelessly in the water. They are still alive, but barely. What do I do? I've already started changing the water again.

Sorry to hear about your problems - I have not used Prazipro myself, but I have heard it is usually safe.
I think two near-100% water changes conditioned with Prime is probably the best thing for them right now.
Hopefully someone with more experience with Prazipro can chime in, soon. When you have a chance, please post all the parameters in the red box above, so we can see if something else might be going on.
Good luck,
Dave

Thanks, but I think it's too late. I had used only some Clout over a week ago. With the water change, I wouldn't think this would have affected anything, but maybe it did anyway. Thanks for responding.

Hi MS - what is wrong with your fish?
Is clout used for fish lice?
What are the symptoms of your fish?
Was there any visible parasites?
I'm just trying to understand what went on before you used the Prazipro to look for possible causes so if you can give some more information ie. the history that led you to use 2 different treatments, it may give us a clue.
Please post back soon
PS. I'm sorry they're doing so poorly

Hmmmm . . . from what understand Praziquantel doesn't affect the fish at all.
Plwase keep us posted. I hope your fish pull through this.

Sorry to hear about your fish.
I used Prazi-Q Pro a couple of weeks ago for what I thought was a case of flukes. It says to use 1 teaspoon for 25 gal daily for 5-7 days. I got through 3 doses before my fish started to look really sick, hiding on the gravel up against the filter intake, barely breathing. He looked like he was going to die that night. I thought it might be the Prazi even though everyone told me tha Prazi was really safe so I put the carbon back in and the next AM he looked a little better. I did water changes and he continued to improve. He is still not his old self but is a lot better now that he is just in clean water than before when I added the Prazi.
I can't know for sure whether the Prazi made him worse since he was pretty sick when I added it (and had been exposed to other meds, med food, salt before that) but my gut-feel is that the Prazi did make him worse (although it got rid of the flukes!). I know everyone says Prazi is very safe but maybe this particular formulation was a problem? Which one did you use? Mine is PRazi-Q Professional by AquaScience (bought from Goldfish Connection). The code is 100305-01 and it expires in 5/09.

Might be a dumb question, but did you condition the water?
