Are they doing what I think they are doing?

I have no idea what the size and appearance of the eggs should be - if there are any.

Eggs are about 1/16 of an inch big and whitish or clearish, depending on whether they have been fertilized or not.

In general, they stick all over the bottom of the tank and glue themselves over every plants and oranament. The fish in the tank - mom and dad included will feast on them - eating them rapidly.

Males will fill the tank'w water with milt -making it look as if the tank has had a glass of milk poured into it.

I have a slow dialup, so I cannot take the 30 minutes it will take to load up your video - but someone else will, soon. smile.gif

Oh!

Then they were just practicing. The water was clear all through the wrestling match. dry.gif

It looks to me like they are doing what you think they are doing!! ohmy.gif

The males will bump the females rear to get her to release the eggs. Once the eggs are released the males will fertilize them. I don't know how long the males chase the females before she releases her eggs. My fish spawned and I noticed the eggs but I didn't ever have that milky white look to the tank. So keep an eye out for the eggs. They looked like little clear bubbles on the plants, rocks and bottom of the tank to me.

Good luck!! wink.gif

Oh I jsut remembered this thread. Take a look:

Well, they wrestled for about 3 hours. A whole lotta shakin' go'in on.

I'll look for tiny bubbles in the gravel and plants.

That anacharis in your tub actually is pretty neat spawning material. I bet that you'll find eggs all over the plant once the fish are all done. The females is pretty fat right there, so it really shouldn't take long anymore. Some nice shubunkin you got there... heartpump.gif
