Amquel vs. Aqua-safe

Why do you recommend Amquel over other brands like Aqua-safe? How about Stress-Coat?

I have actually never used Amquel, and always went w/ aqua-safe. Its always worked out good for me! I also have used Stress Coat for many years.

Amquel is a water conditioner that helps to 'prevent' ammonia.

Amquel "Removes harmful ammonia, chlorine, chloramines and many other organic toxins"

Stress-Coat "A patented formula containing Aloe Vera, nature's first-aid plant, to protect and heal fish. Forms a synthetic slime coating on the skin of fish. Replaces the natural secretion of slime that is interrupted by handling, shipping, fish fighting or other forms of stress."


These do different things for fish..Now if you look at Amquel its to help in removing Ammonia, and chlorines and toxins. The Aqua-safe will remove the heavy metals and chorine and add the nice slime coat, the Stress coat is just for helping with fish that are stressed and need that extra help in the slim coat
