I have an amazon sword plant that is starting to stick out of the water. I was wondering how to trim my plant. Do I just cut it where it is too tall? Can I save the part I cut, so it grows into another plant?

I was wondering this, because it makes the tank look bad.

Thank you

well, with amazon swords, they create runners that will sprout a bunch of baby plants if you are wanting baby plants. but in order to trim the plant, you need to trim as close as you can to the base because what is damaged will start to decompose.

you can only grow baby amazons through the runners... if you really want to trim it, i would suggest breaking off the longer uoter-leaves, leaving the smaller ones exposed...

Tinks is right about only pulling off the older outer leaves if you need to trim the plant.

Unfortunately, they're not small plants when full grown! The only way to keep it growing smaller is to pull it out and trim a bit of the roots off. With less roots, it should put out smaller leaves.
