biggrin.gif Well claire,if it does turn out to be a flower bud, consider yourself lucky.Alot of people don't have the opportunity to ever see that happen. smile.gif

i have managed to take a pic, but i have no usb so ill have to post it when i get back to uni. ive just had another look at the bud and it defo looks like it will turn into a flower. if it does do i need to remove it, or is it safe in the tank??

i didnt think t was common to see a plnt flower in the aquarium!

ive just done a search and found the plant it is a Cabomba caroliniana, and the flower looks really pretty. is the flower safe for goldies though?
emperor falulous
heres a link to a great aquarium site, they say that it is a good aquarium plant and if it was bad for goldies they would say so, so i think your okay. it looks really pretty too. smile.gif

laugh.gif I bought a ton of Cabomba off a lady a while back from Florida. When she sent it out to me,they were flowering like crazy.First I've ever seen.Needless to say that my Goldies totally enjoyed those baby buds without any ill-effects. laugh.gif Said it was like eating baby veggies-tender and YUMMY! rofl3.gif They're fine with the fish.

Wow.. I didn't know they flowered. Cool... I would love to see a picture if you can.

I have had another type of plant flower before. It's a slow growing plant... not sure of the name. Waxy sort of leaves and the flower looked like a small lilly. It was cool.

Congrats on something that most people will never see. I am excited for you

smile.gif Hey Barb,I'm thinking that yours may have been an Anubia.
claire_uk
im excited to, cant wait for it to flower. ive got my mum watching it coz ive had to come back to uni this week. when i left this morning it looked like there were two buds with another possible 2-3. i hope it does flower, it feels like a lot of things have been going wrong latley, and this has to be a good thing!

when it flowers ill get a pic of it, i think it will be a white flower, although i have seen pics of yellow ones. as i said i have never seen them flower b4, or any other plant that we have had, they all usually just grow like crazy.

i dont think they would eat them, i hope not, since they dont really eat the plants.

he he im all excited now!

claire, can't wait to see the flowers. I'm anxious to see your picture when the time comes.

Devs, thanks for the plant name. I looked it up on go0gle...and sure enough that's what it was. Thanks !
claire_uk
well my fish decided it would be more fun to eat the flower than for me to take a pic of it!! and they never eat any of the other plants!! never mind, maybe it will flower again and i can snap a pic before they get to it!!
