I posted a question in this fourm titled " Newbie needs help" and 41 members view it but no one responded, why is this?

I haven't even seen that thread yet blink.gif Probably no one saw it that could help yet. When did you post it? If it was in the morning or afternoon theres a good chance the mods or more experienced people didn't see it yet....most of us have to work to ya know smile.gif

Hey Nichjake, my newbie post is either located one inch below or above this post. I know everyone works but Im just trying to understand why 40 people viewed it but no one responded to it besides JenW.

This seems to be a great site with some great people but Im a newbie just looking for some help.

Hey Trackwalker....first of all...Welcome to Koko's! smile.gif
Now about the thread, I haven't seen it either (about to go look)
but I can say that sometimes people may look at a thread, not know the answer or any suggestions to help...so they don't reply. Then they may come back and see what someone else did say, if they also wanted to know what replies you would get. Some times, I personally don't reply to something I'm not sure about because I feel it would be left to a Mod or someone with more experience.
If you look around, most threads have ALOT more viewings than replies. We just go back to see what others said sometimes and that way we get to learn something new too, even if we didn't have anything valuable to add to a reply ourselves.
Hope this helps you understand it some, I'm sorry you got frustrated about it. smile.gif

Hello Fishrpets and thank you for your reply, no Im not frustrated I am a member of many (non fish) communitys and I have never seen so many views without replies. I was just wondering if this is the norm for this site.

I like it here and there is a wealth of information and some truely nice people.
Im glad to be aboard.

TW, often people will look at the thread but are unable to answer. Please be patient with us. We are all here volunteer wise so no mods are here all the time. We try to get things taken care of in order.
I assume you are refering to your thread in the discussion. If so I have answered there. Hopefully this is helpful to you.

No all the time is it slow, it comes and goes. wink.gif

welcome!

wav.gif trackwalker and a big welcome to kokos!

One reason why so many people view posts is because kokos has such an enormous membership cf. to other fish sites. If you look on the home page you can see how many that membership is to date. It is an awesome figure. Also there are always hundreds of guests (who cannot reply) who are also browsing.

When you want help fast it can be frustrating. We've all been on the waiting end and know how that is.

I hope you got some good advicein the end.

Look forward to seeing you around biggrin.gif
