Yup, won't be long until you will have little egg clutches hanging everywhere. Congrats!

Last night I opened my tank lid to put some food in the net breeder thats housing my baby ramshorns and she was hanging out there. As soon as I could start to see her she let go and splashed into the water, floated for a couple seconds and sunk to the bottom. I guess I'll look to see where she is before I go opening anything from now on laugh.gif Shes really been scouting around the last couple days, I don't think it'll be much longer before I get another clutch of eggs. I'm really starting to think the first two are infertile though, the oldest one is about a month old and still looks just it did when I first found it dry.gif , the second one hasn't changed either.

If it has been a month and there is no change in coloration I would say it's infertile.

Just today when I was giving the eggs the final checkover before I pitched them. The older one was infertile, I've got no doubts about that. But the newer one (only about 5 days newer), at least some of those eggs are fertile. I was looking it over and I accidently broke an egg, those things are just so fragile, and there was a baby inside! It made me so excited biggrin.gif I just hope I didn't break it out to soon...

I had to help my little ones hatch. I took an eyedropper and squirted the clutch. It sorta dissolved and the babies came flowing out with the water! It was exciting!

How do you know when its ready?

Most of my clutches start sinking in the middle and going all kind of mushy. If I spot babies,I'll take the whole clutch and slowly swish it around in the tank until the pod itself starts falling apart and the baies start falling out.Sometimes they hatch, and if the clutch is not moist enough, then the babies can't get out and eventually dry out. sad.gif
Experience shows you the color's of clutch when they're ready-Sometimes depending on snail color-you can even begin to see their little dark bodies under the clutch top .It's so cool! smile.gif
