hi, I bought several Anacharis a few months back, the guy at the pet store told me to do a water change and rinse the plants in the tank water that i took out, he also said to leave whatever i do not put in the tank into the old tank water so i did. A week later i realised that the remaining anacharis were still in the old tank water, so i rinsed them and put them in cleaner water. I would like to add them to the tank but i am afraid that having left them in old tank water for a week they may be harmful to the fish. I bought these plants for the fish to munch on once in a while. Does anyone know if they are safe to put into my fish tank or should i get new plants?

I don't really see anything wrong with that just rinse them a bit with some water.

A "plant person" will probably post soon.

Leaving them in dirty tank water won't make them harmful at all, but i'd be worried about introducing pests like snails or parasites into the tank. Were there any fish in the plant tank?

no, just the plants.
