does feeding on live plants make the goldfish colour more vibrant? my black ranchu, nelly, 2inches, used to have a couple of gold scales here n there on the back n belly. now it seem more solid black. my other goldfish, roh, which is an orange thai topview ranchu, still looks the same to me.

I've never heard that about live plants, but feeding spirulina flakes will bring on more vivid shades of gold. Even white fish become pale yellow if they eat alot of spirulina.
