Yah I'm pretty dissapointed with the myths about peace lilies. Betta vases, aquatic plants etc. I've even seen pictures of flowering peace lilies in water on aquatic plant additive bottles! If I'm not mistaken, they are mildly poisonous to house cats so that is really not something you'll want in with your fish.

You can still buy a peace lily and keep it *next* to your tank. Peace lilies are nice little plants

BAH! We are reffering to spathophylum wasillii right??? I just bought a bunch of these for my dwarf tank... I am soo mad, the girl at my LFS said they would work just fine. It was the prepacked so I don't think I can return it but I did just spend $15 on 6 seperate plants. DOH!. Sorry for bringing up an old thread, I figure it's better to have one old thread than a billion new threads on the same subject.

BTW these plants were labeled as 'umbrella plants' by Top Fin...
Should I stick these things in pots or go get my money back?

If they're what I'm thinking of, stick them in pots, they get pretty white calalily type flowers. Or give them to friends

Stay away from pre-packaged plants unless you know exactly what you are looking for since almost all of those are terrestrial even though they are labeled aquatic. Its sad...almost all of the plants in the plant tank for sale are terrestrial too. Why are suppliers doing this?
How much was the peace lily? I'd return it to give them a peice of my mind in the very least. Peace lilies are cheap house plants and you can get babies at Lowe's for $2.99 each.

Well they're still in there... they are growing longer roots and new leaves... but they are loosing there green luster. I will pull them out as soon as I can get replacements.

What's wrong with replying to older topics? This was an interesting post and bringing it to the top again might prevent others from making the same mistake. Is there a rule against replying to posts after a certain time has elasped?

I found this thread interesting too. I have a plant that resembles a peace lilly in my tank. I think it's an anacharis?

there is a rule only reply if the topic is 2-3 months old as it keeps the board tidy and there are users who use dial up bringing up old threads can make there system lag. The board kind of has to have a happy medium for everyone
