hey guys,
i've been wanting to ungrade into a 50 gal tank and i have been looking at acrylic ones and i was wondering how much does a 50 gal acrylic weigh as opposed to a glass one. its okay if noone knows, i know this is kinda a hard question because no one really goes around weighing tanks with water in them, but if youhave any idea i would really appriciate it.

I believe acrylic tanks weigh about half as much (or perhaps even a bit less than half) as glass tanks. A 50 gallon glass tank would weigh about 85 pounds, so an acrylic one would probably weigh 40ish pounds (ball park).
And keep in mind the weight from the water, gravel and decorations. You should figure about 10 lbs per gallon of water, gravel, and decorations. So 50 gallons would weigh about 500 pounds plus the weight of the tank.
Hope that helps!

Fantailfan1 is pretty much right on with the info she provided.
Here's a link to a chart that gives the sizes and filled weights of most of the standard size aquariums.
