Hello everyone and thanks for taking the time to check my post out.

Ok i ordered the complete water testing kit on ebay, now i just have to wait for it...

Bubba started getting a red sore on one side of her face last week,it eventually left but it left behind a small cut and she seems to have a tiny hole in her Wen. Now 2 days ago she started to have the red spots on her other cheek and its a bit swollen, can you tell me whats wrong? i read around i think it might be a bacteria infection im not sure.Besides the redness she's eating like a pig and swimming around fine

Well ive been doing water changes weekly and this really all started when i put her in the brand new tank, whats going on sad.gif.I promise i will give you guys tests as soon as i get my kit through the mail.

Here are some pictures of the problem

Better get around to treating it. My lionhead and oranda died from a complication of what resembled those lesions. My oranda's wen was eaten away almost overnight from a tiny hole like that. It was really gross, as if it was a horror pic featuring flesh-eating bacteria

eeek ! what can i treat her with?

i have this powder

POWDER TREATMENT

Would this do?

Looks like an advancing bacterial infection. Can you check her gills - are they a nice meaty red?

Also, has she been pooping lately? Is it white/stingy? Or solid/coloured?

In addition to understanding your water parameters, could you please answer as many of the other questions as possible - especially tank size, filtration, how many fish, any new additions etc...

PS. It's quite risky adding meds until you know what your parameters are - they won't do any good while water quality is questionable so getting this tested, even taking a sample to your lfs would be better than nothing smile.gif

If you look closely it seems to be the sensory pits that follow around the head.
This suggests hexamita or hole in the head disease and is tricky to treat effectively. Its either down to a worm or a bacteria and you need to do lots of water changes to try and bring it down. Some people say Acriflavin will work.

Welll I seem to have good news smile.gif

Ive been treating my babies with Metro-Med and GENERAL CURE for hole in the head, and Bubba's condition has improved greatly, shes barely has anything now,so i will be feeding them for 14 days and doing more water changes until i can get everything under control on the water paremeters.

I also have an update on Leo,he's also eating Metro-Med and the powder treatment actually looked like it really helped out his swim bladder problem. So i put him back with his tank mates smile.gif

Heres some update pics of Leo and Bubba

What great pics! Can you list the ingredients in the powder treatment and General Cure? We don't get those products in Aust. but perhaps can get products with similar ingredients.
OrandaBeauty
Sure thing

The general cure capsules contain

125mg Metronidazole

13mg Copper Sulfate

8mg Trichlorfon

The pet store guy told me the best thing that was in there was the Metronidazole. Those capsules really helped ALOT. Myabe i should put some on ebay if ht U.S doenst have this product.

Thnaks for the nice comments about the fish and the pics biggrin.gif
Devs
blink.gif OB,I'm a little confused.Did you use two different treatments,(one being "The Powder"-Fungus Eliminator made by Jungle, and something called "General Cure"? Who makes "General Cure",and is that actually the name of it?
Just want to be clear here. smile.gif

I've heard that metronidazle is a powerful antibiotic, unfortunately we don't have it Aust. thanks for that info.

Hello Devs

Leo was in in hospital tank,i gave him a treatment of 7 days with the jungle powder,it actually seemed to have worked,i was also feeding him Metro Med at the same time.

While he was in the hospital tank,i was treating the other fish, well more Bubba for Hole in the head, the others didnt have anything but didnt want to take a chance. I treated them with "General Cure" Thats the brand name by Aquarium Pharmaceuticals.

heres the link GENERAL CURE

Its nuts, the same day i put it in i already started to see a difference that night,i was extremely surprised.

If ever anyone of you need this product let me know and i will gladly ship it out to you if it can save a fish smile.gif

Yes the powder is extremly powerful,i had to do a 60% water change after i was done treatment and after that a few small ones. Now im feeding them metro med and thats it.

Thanks for all the help smile.gif
