Ponderosa Power
I have a ten gallon tank that I'm starting to plant. I am starting to get all sorts of algea in the tank...brown, soft green and possibly green-blue. I was thinking about getting an otto, but I hear they do better in groups and I want something that won't take up much space. I have easy access to baby ramshorns...but is it worth it? I don't want my tank over populated by snails. Will honey gouramis or black neon tetras eat the small babies?

smile.gif Ramshorns will do the trick, however, let me warn you that they overpopulate in no time, and will definately take over the tank unless someone is eating them.
Truthfully,I have no ideas about the fish and what they'll eat.
I do have to say that someone sent me plants with eggs on it that didn't die,and my tank with live plants/Kuhli Loaches, and Cherry Shrimp have a huge amount of tiny ramshorn babies all over the place. sad.gif Apparently they don't eat them. Now the snails are eating my little Sword Plants. sad.gif

My rams like to eat my plants, well did when I still had the plants so if you're planting the tank with real plants I wouldn't get the ramshorns.

Okay I'm taking everyone's advice and not putting any in the tank. I just added live plants and I don't want them eaten.
