The Eclipse is a nice set up--very clean looking. I had the Eclipse 37 show combo. I bought it BEFORE I found this site.
Once I discovered this site and realized the recommended gph is 10X I looked into it and the hood that came on the 37 had a gph of 250--not enought for goldies. So I ended up adding a canister filter to it. Which worked well and was still a clean looking set up--but very expensive.
It looks like the 25 gallon has a gph of 200 gph--about 50 gallons per hour too little for goldies. And the trick with the Eclipse hoods is that you cannot add a hang on back filter because how they are designed. You could add a canister, but again, very expensive option.
If you really want to stick with an Eclipse hood, you could do the Eclipse 3 hood (which is the one that somes with the 37 gallon set up) and put it on a 20 gallon long. That's what I'm going to do with mine once my fry gets big enough to handle the current from the filter. If you do this, keep in mind that Eclipse filters don't have a lot of bio filtration--just the BioWheel. But you could add ceramic cylinders or something similar to the tank or filter for added bio filtration.
Otherwise for a lot less money, you could buy a 29 gallon tank and a Penguin 330 or Emporer 400 filter. I've got an Emporer and it was only like $40-45. It's a nice filter and lots of room for biomedia.
I really like the looks of the Eclipse systems. They work great for fish that don't need as much filtration as goldies. And you can make it work for goldies--it just gets kinda pricey.
