I have a baby cinnamon flame gourami and I want to know if its a girl or a boy. How can you tell with gouramis? Is it difficult when they are young? Mine's only a bit over an inch.

What colour is it now? Males will colour up but the females stay a silver colour.

This is the breed of honey gourami. There are different types; cinnamon (this one), sunset, wild etc. The cinnamon and sunset I know for sure are "man-made" colors/breeds, so the females could possibly be just as colorful as the males. Mine is not as bright as the one on the site at all, but that could just be quality or stress because its new...or possibly because its young? I searched go0gle and did not find many blander honeys.
