~ Hey ~ I was wondering if i wanted to get like 2 goldfish in a 14 gallon tank what type of filter would i need? I am just wondering becuase i might do this or i might do tropicals. i am not sure yet. what do you guys think i should do becuase i really want goldfish.

If you decide on goldfish, and it seems you really, really want one, then I'd say put just one into that tank. 14 gl isn't really enough for two fish, but one would live in it quite comfortable, and gets big fast with so much water.

As for a filter, Aquaclears are really great, easy to maintain, and are not that expensive. Here is an example of one... smile.gif

That same filter would of course work for tropicals as well. smile.gif

If your tank is still overstocked then I would put the other tropicals in there. And 10gal is the minimum for each goldfish. If you are not overstocked anymore I would get 1 goldfish or some tropicals.

i am not overstocked anymore becuase i found homes for all of my platies and then i have left 1 black female molly and 1 female guppy which i think are going to stay in the 10 gallon and i am going to give the 14 gallon to the goldfish! thanks for all the help and more suggestions on how to make the tank better would be welcome and well aprreicated!
