Dean~

I don't think $31 is going to get you very far to be honest, I'd keep saving if I were you. You might be able to get a few of the items that you have listed but not many, And more than likely that test kit will run you more than you think. That's going to cost you almost all of your savings! I woulden't worry about getting any of the other items until you have enough money saved up for the Test Kit. Filter's aren't exactly "cheap" either, Haven't you priced out these thing's on your own?

I noticed you again posted in Buy/Sell/Trade section, Your best run for the money is to not be asking people for hand-out's etc. And stick with buying things from the LPS- In the long run the shipping for some of these item's is going to cost you far more that it would to go out and buy them yourself.

You can afford every item you listed-PLUS the test kit for under $35.00. That doesn't sound quite right to me. Good Luck with that though. wink.gif

yeah i even priced it!

Thanks!
I will let you know! But i am definetly gettign the test kit first !

Okay well the best deal you can get on the test kit is aquarium pharmaceuticals freshwater masterkit for $15-20. The price is more than other tests, but you can do 700+ tests and that is incredibly cheap compared to the other tests that are $7 for 30 tests. Print out the item on petsmart's website and bring it in. Petsmart will match their online prices and you'll save $15. Once you have that you can buy your other things.

The large Aquatic Gardens Delux Aquarium looks to be about 6-8 gallons but I'm only guessing my the measurements. Can someone look it up? My internet is not working properly enough to do a search. The dimensions are 14.5"W X 8"D X 10"H Either way, you can get a glass ten gallon tank for the same price at petco and Wal.mart Its a much better deal because its not plastic that will scratch easilly, you get a bigger tank, you can get pretty much any type of filer (not just internal with the kritter keeper) and you can have a proper hood with light system if you choose later.

"3. Whisept internal filter- for 2 to 10 gallon"

I'm not sure about that particular filter, but my Internal Tetra Whisper i10 (2-10 gallons) was almost $20 at Petco. I'd imagine that would be $15-$20 also if you were to purchase at a pet store or another store that carries fish supplies.

I'd go for the test kit first thing if I were you smile.gif In my personal opinion, I didn't care much for the AP test.. I'm not sure if it was just the Nitrate or all of them, but my glass vial leaks when you mix chemicals to test that water -_- LoL Could be just mine or just the Nitrate though. The Tetra tests don't seem to be all that accurate. They test in 5's (for ph: 6.5, 7.0, 7.5, etc). The rest of my tests are by Fresh Labs and I like them. The results have been rather accurate smile.gif

Good luck, and I hope you can at least pick up the tests!

edit: Grr, typos -_- I think it's time for bed LoL

My Whisper Internal filter i10 only cost me 9 bucks at Wal,mart.

Lucky -_- Wally World doesn't carry filters out here for tanks smaller than 30 gallons or larger than 55. At least they carry cheap cartridges for most of the filter types and the smaller sizes. LoL The filters would sure be nice though!

I'm confused is Wally World nnnnnn?

I don't know why it did that but what I said was WAL MART.

my AP bottles leak when you shake them.. its like all the different tubes are different sizes and you have to find the lid that will fit the right one.. very annoying.. and you cant read the nitrAte test well, but they are fixing that in a few months.. other than that I find AP a good test kit smile.gif lol
020292
okay! are there any other ones that i should try to get!
Thanks!

Yah my tubes leak sometimes too. I have a designated fish towel that I wrap the tube in when I shake so I don't burn holes in my carpet smile.gif
balashark
mine haven't leaked yet. maybe i'm just lucky? although i made sure i kept the lids with the tubes they started on, and i always put both back in the same holes to keep track of which are for which test.

oh, if kissy's measurements are right, it's 5 gallons. and if you ever can't get to an online conversition table, multiply the width*length*height of a box aquarium and divide that number by 231 (cubic inches in a gallon). so 14.5 X 8 X 10 = 1160 / 231 = approximately 5 gallons.

okay! thanks!
