Oh there were some very nice bettas in very small little plastic containers!!!!!!!!!!!
There was like one with only a little water and was hanging on to life.
THE REST WERE DEAD!!!!!!!!!!
OHHHH I wanna cry my heart out!!!
I wanted to by that last one but he probably would have died on the way home!!!
And the stupid cashier "oh the water just probably needs to be changed"!!!
Also there was a employee that was DUMPING the fish into the bag!!!!!!!!

I am not going to sleep good tonight!!!!

that is how they always are in pet stores...the males at least. Its unfortunate that you saw them all dead, but unfortunatly it happens sometimes. Anywhere you go you will most likely see male bettas in little cups. The idea is that they will not be in there very long, but stores without a fast turnover rate will keep them there much longer until someone buys them. Most stores restock their fish once a week, so you can bet some of them are there at least a week. its sad, but that is how it is done almost anywhere. LOL if I ran a pet store I think Id save my milk jugs and put them in there when they arrived! Its better than little cups but hardly looks professional. Oh well.

You know what repulsed me? I was at a pet store and in thier fish section the employees were gathering all the dead fish...and just setting them on their counter and on the step ladder they use to reach the top tanks. I walked by looking at goldfish and happened to look down on the step of the ladder and there was a pile of fish carcasses. Nice. Kind of ruined my joyful browsing mood.

I know what you mean, around here all the pet stores have them in little cups, its pretty sad,why not make bigger containers, its not harder or more expensive sad.gif stupid people...

That's sad sad.gif What bugs me is that sometimes the tiny cups are only about 1/4 of the way full! Ugh! It's like some of the water gets dumped out and they don't even bother to add more. This is how I've accumulated 5 bettas. I can't turn a sad little face in a cup down.

yah, at my work, we sell them in the little cups, but they sell REALLY quickly..we got this new stock in, and there were at least 50 bettas (we keep their cups nice n' clean and full) anyways, we got alot of them in, and then about two days later, there were only four left...so we take pretty good care of them (for a place that keeps em in tiny cups) but it is sad still...
