By mistake i bought tropical fish food which cost be about Euro13 and I really don't want to throw it out as I only realised when I opened the tin. Is it okay to feed this to them? Will they have any adverse effects??

Hi Jazelle,
I beleive Goldies and Tropicals ned to be fed food that is made for them. Its to do with nutritional requirements. Unsure about the finer details though.

It won't make them sick per say put tropical food does not fit the nutritional needs of the goldfish. I'm sure your goldies will happily eat it but keep in mind that the nutrition is wrong and that might stunt their growth and cause other problems in the future. But it might do for a short period of time until you can get some goldfish food, which you will need to do.

They cetainly won't die from it but I agree with the others only for a short period of time for Tropical flakes don't provide the proper nutritional value that goldfish need.

U know what u can do? Buy 2-3 different goldfish food and mix them all up with the tropical food when u feeding ur fish. Mixing different pellets for feeding is good practice.
