Whenever I do a water change on my big tank, if i find any plants that are looking a bit overeaten, I move them into my little tank where i have a ghost shrimp and some snails living in the hope they may regrow a bit so I can save on continually having to buy plants for my goldies. Anyway, I was in my room and my sis who lives with me started calling saying there was something in the shrimp tank! I went and had a look, and it seems i have about 20 baby goldfish fry in my shrimp tank! They must have travelled over with the plants! They look to be about three days old. Just what I need when I have 21 babies that are three months old already! I want to move the female out the tank to stop them breeding non-stop but I wasnt sure how old/big the babies need to be before mum can be safely put with them? I am not one to give fish to pet stores so i am starting to get a bit too crowded to have more babies appear. Normally i would let the fish eat them or the eggs but they are in the wrong tank now so unless the snail or shrimp catch them, i have no hope.
Karen.
