Well got two new goldies for my 20 gal, soon as I put them in Apollo (red and silver.. ore read then anything) started to chase Luna (solid white/silver) at first I thought nothing of it for well I had other things to worry about #1 being letting my dog out.
Came back in to see Apollo was still at it, that was when I got a little worried. In taking a better look I noticed the gills of Apollo were pimply and or in the rash males get only this was the first time I had ever seen it thus went more then crazy trying to figure out what to do. After all I had named nearly ever fish guy based and think they are all girls... lets same sex... and now I wasn’t expecting to be breading them. Sure I wished some day I could but... that would be when I knew most everything there is to know and at least how to tell guy from girl better then he gets spots.
By the time I found the stuff to make a breading mop they had... well done it and the eggs... I think are fertile... no clue how to tell them yellowish in color so umm *shrug*
Any way they were all in the rocks for I had yet to put the plant in... I was franticly trying to decide what to do... I didn't want the eggs to get eaten but I didn’t really have a place to put the parents to be... well not really...
Enid up working out a slight plan of putting the two in my 55 since they are small and it is only a temp fix and leaving the eggs in the tank to see what happens... that is if they are "ok"
As I said I have no clue what it should look like let alone knowing those are eggs... just guessing for i had never seen a pic of them and well seeing they weren’t there before and now are.. I just guessed... also the water was a little cloudy when it was once clear as could be.
The mane thing I am wondering here is how to tell if the eggs are well eggs and if they are how to tell if they will be hatched and if so when?
Thank you in advance.
