Does anyone here use "breeding grass"? I have some in my tank for a more natural look. Anyway, I was wondering how well it works for breeding, and for smaller fish to hide in. I would also like to know any other things you have used for your tank.

Nope, never tried the breeding grass. I have usually those cheap silk ranking vines from the dollar stores in my tanks. Not only because of the price, but they come in neat natural looking colors with some reds and yellows in them, and isn't as boring as the ordinary plain green vines.

I've found out that breeding grass comes in a large variety of colors, such as dark green, light green, and dark green with purple tips.

I have just plastic plants (cabomba) in my tank and when the eggs had been laid and fertilized, I removed them to the breeding tank. I guess that is similar to the breeding grass.

No way would any eggs or babies survive in the main goldfish tank, though, as for your question abotu the babies hiding in the grass. Their best chance is in a separate tank.
