Well I lost Fillet along with my other two males cry3.gif . I still have no idea what killed them. I sterilized everything and left them out in the sun for a couple days to make sure any little nasties were killed.

I can never stay bettaless for long so I have two new males. Their names are Draco and Nimbus. In the store Draco looked brownish but when I got him home I found that he is really a deep red with blue iridescence with a black edge on his tail fin. Lighting can make such a difference in their colors. I've never been big on red betta's but he's grown on me. His first night here he built a huge bubble nest that almost covered the surface of his tank. Nimbus is "white" with some red and blue in his fins. I think he may have some comb tail blood as well. I'm almost positive he's a spawn sibling to Tink. They are the same color with similar markings and they were purchased at the same place a week apart.

The fry are doing well. I have 10 left and they are growing like weeds. They were 3 weeks old yesterday.

My girl tank didn't work out. I came home one day last week to find Bella torn up. She's fine and her fins have already healed. Feeding them was a pain in the butt. Bella is a glutton and would gorge herself before Tink and Sprite could even get any food. I ended up having to hand feed them and I got over that really quick. So the tank is now divided and everything is much quieter.

Here are some photos of the new boys, Draco's bubble nest and the fry,

smile.gif Wow, your pics are amazing! Draco and Nimbus! Wouldn't be a fan of Harry Potter, would you? Their wonderful!

So sorry about the loss of Fillet and your other males. exactly.gif

Its hard enough when we loose fish, but when we don't know why, that is even more difficult.

Good luck with all those babies. heartpump.gif

Congratulations on Draco and Nimbus. Your pictures are lovely and Draco and Nimbus as very handsome smile.gif

BTW, when keeping multiple females, you should keep them in groups of at least five. Three females will constantly pick on each other. It seems when you get up over four, they are not as aggressive with each other and they set up a pecking order.
