Ok I decided that my husband's desk was jealous that my desk has a betta so I've kind of been keeping an eye out for a cutie for it. Today I found her! She's a gorgeous purply blue girl with darker specks on her fins. I think she just arrived at the store today because she's really stressed looking, but hopefully her stripes will go away soon and then I'll try to get some new pictures. Right now I'm calling her Speck.

Thanks for the compliments! Hopefully I can get some better pics once her colors have settled down and the bubbles on the tank wall have cleared off. That maroon thing behind her is a towel that I put there hoping the camera would stop focusing on the junk on the desk behind the tank. I kept going over to look at her and she'd look up at the surface of the water so I gave her some food and she actually ate it. My last betta took 4 days to start eating!

I remember hearing from various people that bettas take ages to adjust to their new surroundings. She's a brave little sweetheart to eat right away. And she's lovely looking! Congrats!

She is lovely. Great that she ate. I had a halfmoon shipped from Thailand to Calgary to me. The next morning he had made a bubblenest, some settle in right away. I have had a few that never settled in and died. It is hard to say from one betta to another how they adjust to change.

I took a few more pictures today. Her color is really coming out. She has some red tint on her gills, eyes and fins that I didn't notice when I first got her. Can you believe she came from wallyworld?!

She is lovely. It is always amazing how their colours come out after they are home and relaxed
I bought four lovely girls last winter from Wallyworld. They are doing very well and living the high life in a 20 gallon tank
