Well I lost two of my boys . Still don't know what killed them. Fillet who seems to be affected by the same thing is holding on. I'm treating him with antibiotics. He hasn't improved but he hasn't gotten any worse.

I have around 15 fry left from Siam's and Narcissa's spawn. Some are quite a bit bigger then others. They are two weeks old today.

I've had decided a while back to try a female betta community tank. I've heard sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I've been cycling a 10 gallon for a few weeks and yesterday I got 2 new females. Their names are Sprite and Tink. I introduced all 4 girls at the same time. Unfortunately Narcissa and Tink started to fight and I had to pull Cissa out. I figured if someone was going to cause trouble it would be her. So far the other 3 are getting along fine. Every now and then there is a little flaring or chasing but so far no biting or fin ripping.

Do you have any silk or live plants in the 10 gallon, that would help alot. In such a small tank, real plants should be no problem to have.

Thanks everyone for the complements! I got the new girls at the store that begins with a W! The "W" store here in my town gets a nice selection of bettas in and they seem to take fairly good care of them. The bettas they have also seem to be younger then the ones at the large pet store chains. There is a nice fish store here in town that has a nice selection of bettas. Last time I was in there they had, VT, DT, CT and Imbellis bettas. They also had female VT's but they were huge. I don't know if the were older or what but I wouldn't put those females in with my smaller ones.

I was planning on having at least 4 girls but since Narcissa didn't work out I'm down to 3. I'm afraid to get more cuz if they don't get along I'm going to be in trouble cuz I don't have room for a bunch of females in seperate tanks. I need the extra room for my spawn, if they survive that is. Right now the 3 girls are getting along ok. There has been a little bickering but nothing serious. Most of the trouble is at feeding time. We'll see how it goes.
