A couple weeks ago, i got 2 tiger barbs and 2 zebra danios, the danios are doing fine eating well swimming around, but the barbs havent came to the top to get their food at all... they dont swim around as much as the danios. Anyone know whats wrong?

Also, when the danios com up for food somtimes they dont eat it, the get it in their mouths then spit it out. I feed them tropical flakes.

(P.S) i spent 1.70$ for all of them

They both need to be in bigger groups to feel comfortable. Both should be at least 5 in number. Tiger barbs also need to be in larger groups to keep the aggression with each other.
Is the tank planted for them to hide and feel comfortable?
The fish are chewing the food then spitting and then chewing, they are making it small enough and soft enough to eat.
