I have added some melafix to the tank in the meantime.

I wouldnt add any adjuster to the tank as the ph from the tap is fine. Maybe to keep the level from dropping do more changes in a week.
The kh is the buffer that keeps your ph stable and if thats too low then the ph can dip causing problems for the fish.
Test strips are good for having those tests on them.
It looks like a bruise to me from maybe hitting something too hard.
Could the tank be somewhere thats getting a lot of vibration from people walking by or is he darting when nothing is happening and people are just sitting?
Where in the room is the tank? Is it open on all sides or flat against a wall?
bulma75
the tank is on a desk, 2 sides dacing the wall-nothing has changed hes been in the tank for months at a time (im in my dorm)

Well now hes laying on his side and getting back up?? But he doesnt look bloated or anything....

Should I heat the water and try to give him peas???
sandy
Until you get the ph and kh tested then we are working blind really. Just do small water changes to try and keep everything balanced and starve him for 3 days then feed a mushed up bit of boiled pea to see if that helps.

well he has no appetite to even eat the peas cry3.gif right now. I will fast him then for 2-3 days as you suggest and try again. thanks
