I am getting a 55 gallon soon (YAY). I ordered an Aquaclear 110 that does 500 gph. Will that be enough or should I get another smaller one to carry over the rest? smile.gif

Hi glitterfish! Congrats on the new tank! Its so much fun setting up a new tank! smile.gif

I have a 55 gal and I run two Penguin 350's and they do a super job. Each has two bio-wheels and can hold up to four filter cartridges each. The water is wonderful as far as chemistry goes and very clear. exactly.gif

I'm not too familar with the Aguaclear 110, but with goldfish, messy little things that they are, I would probably put another filter with the one you ordered.

Good luck setting things up! heartpump.gif

Thanks, vmlola! I use Aquaclear in all but one of my tanks. They dont have biowheels. They have the media basket and such. I will look into getting another smallish one to go on the other side then, Thanks hun! heartpump.gif

Having two filters on a tank is better than one. With two filter you can alternate cleaning them, and you'll get better water circulation in the tank which will help eliminate dead spots.

Thanks Bak2it. I just ordered one that does 100 gph to offset the larger filter. smile.gif
