Hi everyone I've started thinking about bettas again and I may get Orchard a girlfriend (flirting only!). Since I won't have to worry about goldfish or a big 29 gallon tank, I think I can handle another 3 gallon. Bettas are so enjoyable...and I'm curious to see if it will help Orchard's tail biting. I know it would be best to combine them to a 10 gallon w/divider, but I don't have anything to support that. However, there is a perfect spot on the back top of my my couch right next to Orchard's tank. I'll still be under 20 gallons for college too

This won't happen for a while tho...first I want to redecorate the tropical tank and get some tropical fish, and I want to see how well the zeo-lite will work in Orchard's tank before seriously considering another. I think I'll get another 3 gal kritter keeper w/hydor heater because that seems to work well for Orchard. It will be all pretty with silk flowers and such

i know someone who had a betta that bit hmself.. and getting him a girlfriend did help i think it acts as a distraction

I say go for it! Even if it doesn't help with the biting, girls are just as enjoyable as the boys. My girl is so sassy and fun. Everytime I open her lid she wiggles her butt like a cat and then tries to jump at my fingers. Just be sure to have a tightly fitting lid so you don't have a fish landing on your head while you're sitting on the couch Mine are in a divided 10 gallon with 2 boys on the outside and the girl in the middle and they're always showing off to each other and playing so I think Orchard would enjoy the company too!

Ugh I might not now I just bought some zeolite to try out and on the container it says it HAS to go in a filter and it can't be put directly in the tank.....

That stinks. You should totally get a girlie sometime. They are so funny! Mine are. I love them to bits
